Jonny Kirwin, owner of Brch & Wyn, sums up his philosophy: "half my life is spent wondering if it's too late for coffee or too early for wine." He has brought this motto to life at his café: a coffee shop by day and a wine bar by night.
Originally hailing from Ottawa, Jonny has made Stratford his home for the past six years. With a background as a Sommelier and years of experience importing and roasting coffee, the decision to merge his two big passions into a business was a natural progression.
The menu at Brch & Wyn reflects their all-day operation. Mornings offer breakfast delights the brunch menu featuring all-you-can-drink mimosas or Caesars. As the day becomes evening, the café transforms into a wine bar, serving delectable nibbles and small plates.
Jonny's enthusiasm for new offerings is infectious. He recently introduced the 2018 Barbi Brunello di Montalcino, a wine he describes as "a masterpiece with notes of rosehip, elderflower, eucalyptus mint, and Mediterranean herbs." He’s also got an exciting new menu is on the horizon, featuring innovative dishes like the mouthwatering scallion pancake with hoisin, chili, and mushrooms.
