Daytripping From Stratford: St. Marys

Located just a short drive from Stratford, St. Marys offers a delightful day trip, especially on a hot summer day.
Begin your adventure at the St. Marys Quarry, an active limestone quarry until the 1920s later, it was transformed into Canada's largest outdoor freshwater swimming pool in the 1940s. The pool is typically opens in from late June through Labour Day, and offers a refreshing escape during the summer months.
After a rejuvenating swim, wander through the picturesque downtown area. Admire the stunning architecture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including the impressive spired Municipal Town Hall and the magnificent Opera House, once the heart of social life in St. Marys. Don't miss the historic Public Library as well.
