Catherine's Back In The Candy Shop

By DiscoverStratford.com - Published November 15, 2024

It's been a while, but we're thrilled to have another delightful report from our resident sweet-toothed reporter, Catherine, and her parents. This marks the final installment of Catherine's captivating survey of the candy stores in Stratford and beyond. Let's dive into her recent visit to the highly-regarded Chocolate Barr's Candies:

"We visited on and there were SOOO many shoppers. There are these cement blocks outside the store and they're painted with these cool birds. The sun was shining so I got to eat my candy in the sun with pretty birds and my Mom. That is a really good way to spend Saturday.”"

"The staff were really kind and welcoming. They even gave me a free sample!" Catherine's Mom echoed her enthusiasm, raving about the delectable pecan brittle. She playfully mentioned sharing some of the treats with Dad, though Catherine's eye roll suggests a different story.

Some of the other highlights from Little C's report include a truly unique chocolate sucker: "It's an elephant drawn with icing and decorated with colorful M&Ms. It tastes amazing, and it's clear there's a lot of artistry involved in creating something this special."

And her final verdict? "You have to try the Lemon Cream. It’s not normal lemon. It’s the good side of lemon!"

It's been an absolute joy having Catherine and her family share their ice cream adventures throughout the summer and their candy store explorations this fall. We sincerely hope to entice them back soon for a brand new series of sweet discoveries!
